Boy did she deliver. This kid has been shedding light on our world since 9:06am September 12th. (Stubborn little sucker held out for 12 hours so she wouldn’t have to share that day.) For someone who loves words, I often find it hard to use them in describing my girl. She is an old soul. We often joked that she might be my father reincarnated because she had such an amazing bond with my mom from the minute she was born. Baby F always had a look in her eye like she’d been around before and knew there was more to life than all this laying around and drinking from a bottle. It was as if she had already been here and knew her Grandma from long before. They were best friends and I believe she was sent for healing. My Girl is insightful and kind beyond her years. She takes on other people’s trouble and does what she can to make their world better. She is inspirational to be around and awe inspiring to watch in action. Sometimes it is hard to remember she is only six.
I go to bed every night and pray that she never loses herself. I hope she carries the confident, introspective, kind heart that she has now into adolescence and adulthood. I hope she doesn’t allow life to chip away at her joy. She has so much to give the world and as her mom, my biggest hope in life is that she always remembers that. I believed in her before I even met her. Now I believe she could rule the world.
